In late 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly Donald Trump's chief strategist, visited the UK preparing for a speech at the Oxford Union.

The speech was disrupted by numerous protesters, and Bannon, scheduled to board a flight that night, told Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Activists delayed speech don't think I can make the flight we are heading to heathrow".

Epstein replied: "There. Is a gulf air that leaves at 950 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "You are an amazing assistant".

These messages were published on Wednesday alongside over 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The disclosure by the Congressional committee contains an text conversation where Bannon's identity is redacted. Media outlets managed to confirm his identity by cross-referencing the dates, events, and places referenced.

For instance, Epstein discusses chartering a plane from Scotland for the unnamed individual in the messages, and commends their "Oxford speech". Bannon took part in the Edinburgh conference on 14 November, and gave the talk at the Oxford two days later.

Bannon, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, declined to comment on the inquiry.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon was one of the president's key aides in the run up to the presidential election and during the initial phase of his first administration, but resigned from the White House in August 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a documentary about Epstein prior to his death and reportedly has around 15 hours of recordings. In a recording of his podcast recently, he said: "We're going to publish the film, the multi-part documentary, next year - at the start of next year."

But the recently disclosed documents suggest Bannon's relationship with Epstein extended than being his biographer, with the disgraced financier at times seeming to act like a aide.

A short time before the exchange in which Epstein seemed to booked a private plane for Bannon, Epstein said: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid travel agent in history ".

Bannon thanked him: "U r quite capable assistant", to which Epstein replied "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "Abu Dhabi" in a separate text, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you're well looked after."

The published messages also show Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in that year.

On the same day his speech at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I became involved in the Brexit issue this morning with Farage, Boris and Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a allusion to the UK prime minister, the struggling UK prime minister at the time, he added: "The guys are attempting to proceed. may soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think remaining as long as you can in the UK. Best-- so people get the commitment of your follow through."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Will Theresa may survive". Bannon answered: "I don't see how however the guys here have no balls" and added "Johnson ; Michael Gove; Rees Mogg; Davis - someone has to step up".

Theresa May was eventually toppled in 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of no confidence in late 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK informed media: "Farage has never been in a meeting with Steve Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence such a meeting took place.

The US House of Representatives will decide next week on whether the justice department should release all its files concerning its investigation into Epstein, who died in jail in 2019.
